Flowers for a Friend

I've only known Amanda of The Nail Polish Enthusiast since around the end of August when Nichole and I joined Twitter, but she quickly became (and is still) one of my favorite polish people.  She's caring, warm, and funny and you should follow her if you don't already.  Today's the 10th anniversary of her mother's death and I needed to do what I could to cheer her up on what must be a very rough day.

Nichole was right, I don't really do pink....but Amanda said her mother loved tulips, so I gave them a try.  Emphasis on the word try.  I'm still getting used to my nail art brushes.

The sky is Petites Color Fever Crème Blue, the grass is Zoya Neeka, the tulips are Sinful Colors Truth Or Dare and Ulta Sun-Sational, and the stems are American Apparel Hunter.

Amanda, I'm thinking of you as I post this.  It says a lot about the woman your mother must have been, that you would organize something like this in her honor.  She raised a great daughter!

Update- Ten other people (so far) wound up doing memorial manis for Amanda's mother, and you can see them here.

  1. Thank you so much! These are great... my tulips would have been a hot mess so I'm glad you were able to do them!
