It's that time of year again. Zombies, witches, and ghouls...oh my. The Walking Dead is FINALLY back. It seems like it takes forever for the show to return. But it's finally here, and of course I had to do something creepy and gross to celebrate. Instead of eating the brains of my family, I painted my nails and half my hand.
I only used one light source here. It's amazing what a good light can do. |
Colors Used:
Covergirl Forever Fawn
China Glaze Merry Berry
Milani Dark Coffee
Butter London Matte Top Coat
*and*
Wet 'n' Wild Fantasy Makers Black Lipstick
I wanted to do something really off-the-wall for this year, since I already did zombie nails last Halloween. So instead of cleaning up, I decided to leave the mess...and add do it. I did a gradient from the base with the red and brown, and then over did it a bit to make my fingertips look bloody and angry...like I had my hands in some poor sap's liver. I sloppily applied the matte top coat, so that my nails wouldn't look glossy and polished. I even added a little Merry Berry to the underside, but I think I could have avoided that as it wasn't especially noticeable. (It was also a pain in the ass to remove.) Then I used the black lipstick and rubbed it everywhere. I was pretty happy with the result. It looked even creepier in dim lighting. Obviously, this is not wearable at all for normal life. If you avoided the lipstick on your palms, this would probably stand up to wear. Try it! I'd love to see other interpretations!
Don't forget to tune in tonight at 9:00 for The Walking Dead on AMC!
It looks damn good, you girl! :D I love them! And of course, no need to mess with your perfect nails for this, you just nailed it!
ReplyDeletethanks!! I loved these, but I had to remove them before the kids woke up. I think this might scare them a little too much!
