Ipsy Bag January 2014

It's that time of the month again. (not that time, the "ooohstuff" time) When my Glamroom went live, I was less than thrilled. I think if I hadn't received the Beauty Blender (thanks, by the way, to whichever of you lovelies used my link.) then this month would have been a total wash. The products are OK, but nothing spectacular.

The Goodies:
Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Pencil in Penny
Nourish Organic Lightweight Face Moisturizer
Willa On the Go Face Towelettes
MicaBeauty Tinted Lip Balm in Natural
HealthySexyHair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner

(Beauty Blender + cleanser)

only two swatchable things
Boo.
My Thoughts:

MicaBeauty Tinted Lip Balm:
It's not very balmy, but it is pigmented. It feels more like a matte lipstick than any kind of balm. The "natural" color I got is a great MLBB color, which is awesome. But 10 minutes after applying it, I thought to myself "my lips are dry, I need balm...oh wait." It felt like I hadn't applied anything all day. For that reason, I think this is a half-fail.

Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Pencil:
This thing is tiny.  But the color and formula make me like it...so I'm torn. It is the color of a brand new penny, minus the pink. A true copper. It is also budge-proof. I put it on my hand last night, and it stayed. And stayed. It resisted several hand washings, a decent scrubbing with a makeup wipe, and a 10 hour sleep. It was still there in the morning, and only baby oil in the shower removed the last traces. It is $15 for a full size...and given the limited color range, I just don't know. I like it, but I wouldn't buy it.

HealthySexyHair Leave-in Conditioner:
It's a perfectly serviceable spray conditioner. My hair feels soft, even the over-bleached sections. It has a decent smell that doesn't linger once my hair dried. I will definitely use it, but I'm not in love with it.

Willa Face Wipes:
I am allergic to lavender. These are lavender. Yeah...I'm gonna swap them.

Nourish Organic Face Lotion:
This stuff is actually pretty nice. It's very light, which is OK for me during the day because I layer lotion and sunscreen under my makeup, and any moisturizer that is too thick will make my foundation slide right off. It does have a SUPER strong citrus smell initially, which can be a bit off-putting. But the smell dissipates fairly quick and I don't notice it after five minutes or so. It also has the most icky, chewed-gum color that I have ever seen in a moisturizer. I have a hard time putting it on my face if I look to closely at it. But I like the way it feels, and I think it's a good moisturizer for people with a wide range of skin types.
