My Last Purchase as an Employed Person

So as most of you know, I had a job for the holidays. It was fun, and I learned some things, and now its over. (Hooray!) The second best thing about it was the employee discount on cosmetics and clothing that is usually out of my price range. I bought a lot of stuff for myself, friends, and my kids. It was a good Christmas at the PGS West headquarters this year.

The very last thing I bought, on my very last day, was this little set. "Deluxe Sample" sizes of some products I had been dying to try, plus a couple that I knew I wanted anyway. And they all fit in an adorable little bag!

The packaging was big, but square and probably easy
to wrap at Christmas.

The Goods:

Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Cargo eyeshadow duo in St. Tropez & Colombia
Butter London polish in Knees Up
Philosophy Miracle Worker Eye Serum
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Liner in Zero
Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss

Inside, everything was packed snugly away

The Cargo Duo.
L: over UDPP/R: over bare skin

Lip Gloss and UD 24/7 Liner

the eye cream
Butter London Knees Up
also, hows my new camera?

My Thoughts:

It was all about as I expected. These are all great quality products, and convenient travel sizes/testing sizes if you've never tried these products. It all packs away into the included clutch, which I thought was a nice touch. Often, the "bonus clutch" is too small to carry more than a mint pack and a tube of chapstick.

I plan on giving the eye cream a proper test drive, and I've already taken the awful before pictures with my fancy new camera. It feels less like a cream, and more like a silicone primer. It might be nice for under makeup if your skin isn't too dry to begin with.

I do plan to do a "before&after" of the mascara, since I've never tried this one. But it'll have to wait, as I collected an awful lot of mascara samples in the last two months.

If you've tried Buxom lipglosses before, you will like Marvelous Moxie. The taste is just a little different, and the minty tingle is turned down about 30%. It reminded me of spearmint chewing gum, honestly. The gold shimmer is subdued and delicate, and I really like it.

So if you see this set at your local Macy's, pick it up. It's a great mix of products for a decent price.

  1. It's great that you got a good discount on the makeup, it feels good being employeed doesn't it :). Would love to see a before and after on the mascara as I have never tried it before.

    1. Yeah, I am planning on a B&A for the mascara. I'm just waiting for the sun to come out, so I can do it in natural lighting. Damned winter, stealing my sunshine.
