Octopus Party!

*This is a semi-sponsored post. I was sent these polishes for free, but not for the purposes of review. The review was completely unsolicited, and 100% honest*

An awesome guy named Dave contacted me on Reddit with a super-tempting proposal: would I like to try some of his new polishes...with no strings attached? Of course, I said "Hell Yes". Are you crazy?! It's polish, was I going to say no? And I must admit, I am so glad he contacted me. My opinion of jellies has been modified greatly.

This one is a deep cerulean jelly. I was a bit worried about is, since I generally hate jellies. I must retract my previous statements: not all jellies suck. This one is even kinda awesome, because it can be nearly opaque in just four coats. It was easy to apply, even in a dimly lit room , and dried to a wonderfully glossy sheen (though it is pictured with topcoat because I don't want my polish abandoning me at work). I have so many plans for this polish, art-wise. Be prepared to see this one a lot in the coming months.

This one was actually my first pick. I love grays this year, and this one is a beautiful slate color that is absolutely brimming with holo glitter. I used 3 medium coats here, plus a couple of layers of topcoat to make it perfectly smooth. Because this is a jelly base, it would be awesome over other colors. I am kinda itching to try it over OCC Strumpet, because I think it'll be awesome over a dusty fuchsia like that. I can't wait to break out my new camera for this polish, I need it to capture the amount of sparkle here.  You will have to suffer through another galaxy manicure soon...this one reeks of stardust.

This last one is actually Amanda's, and I'll be shipping it off with her birthday/xmas/Imalazyshit haul. But I couldn't resist. We all know, by now, that she is the weird green lover around here...but I really like this color! It has green, gold, and coppery bits in a green jelly base. My favorite part here is that I only needed two coats here. Holy shit, guys. It didn't need very many coats of topcoat to make it smooth, either. Plus, it wore like a champ. Four whole days while I was working 8+ hours each day. I may have to get this one for myself...or maybe it'll get "lost in the mail" on its way to Amanda? (no, I wouldn't do that. Probably.)

Anyway, these are great polishes. No bones about it. What better way to ring in the new year than to support an Indie brand that makes quality stuff? Plus...Octopus Party is a fun name to say. (Dave, if you're reading this, I think you need to make some stickers. I need one. For science.)
