Not everything I do ends up looking awesome. The beauty of having a blog is that I can portray myself as this "perfectly manicured" person, nary a fail in sight. But this is not reality, and sometimes I do some things that strike me as truly awful. This is one of those things.
I tried to do a gradient using aqua and gray...and then I had some glitter toppers from Sally's that I picked up for a steal. Why I thought they would all work well together is beyond me. The definitely don't. But in the interests of honesty-in-blogging, I decided to share it anyway.
Colors used:
China Glaze For Audrey
Orly Mirror Mirror
Fingerpaints Sparkle Top Coat 2013 (806130)
China Glaze Travel in Colour
The toppers are actually nice, but over the aqua and gray...they just looked gross. I'm going to keep searching for a good combo, but this definitely isn't it.
I don't think it's that much of a fail! You could stamp over it if anything :)
ReplyDeleteI should have stamped on it instead... I think adding the glittery tops is what ruined it for me.
DeleteHmm, I'm thinking the problem might be trying to use the toppers over the aqua and gray together - gives off a bit of a dirty/muddy look. Like when you mix paint colors too much and end up with brown. Its not horrible by any stretch tho.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. But I figured that "honesty in blogging" is important, lest people think my nails are always flawless.
DeleteI like the aqua, gray, and gold sparkle!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that one is almost ok.
DeleteMaybe the other topper was too much, but I really like the other elements!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I need to learn when to leave well enough alone!
DeleteStamp over it! It will probably look awesome that way!
ReplyDeleteI need to get some jumbo plates...
