I managed to find some more of the Revlon Parfumerie polishes. Amanda and I are of very different minds over Wild Violets (she kinda hates the smell, I kinda loved it) so I figured that I should check out some other scents/colors to see if the Wild Violet was a fluke.
It might have been. For me, anyway.
African Tea Rose
A beautiful vibrant pink. I guess you could categorize this as a rose, but I don't know that I would. It actually smells a tiny bit like roses...but not as much as I was hoping it would. (also, are African tea roses a thing?) But I actually adored the color, so I could deal with the smell. It has a lovely fine shimmer to it that is only noticeable close up. It actually reminds me of a Sally Hansen pink that I have had for years and years.The shimmer just gives it a depth and beauty that a plain old cream just wouldn't have. However...this stuff is streaky. I used two coats here, but if I were actually going to wear this out-of-doors, I would need at least another. I'm not even completely convinced three would cover the nail line. The first thing I thought when I tried this out was "ugh, I need nail foundation."
China Flower
This red is HOT. Again, I really love the color. It is a great, warm red. Not as flattering on me as the African Tea Rose, but I still really like it. This is almost a perfect vintage red. But like its sister above, the smell is kinda weird...not that I have any idea what a China Flower should smell like. And just like it's sister, it's a streaky bastard. It definitely could do with a bit of thinning, and another coat at least. I'm afraid to thin these, as I don't want to create some awful smelly cocktail here. I may purge these, and I may not. I am undecided.
Tl;dr these are pretty. They don't smell as nice (to me) as Wild Violet. I am of two minds as to their awesomeness.
