Review: Kracie Naive Deep Clear Cleansing Oil

Continuing on the Asian beauty haul theme today, but with a cleanser. Seems like the US is always the last to get in on trends. Maybe we are too resistant to change? I dunno, but I am glad that I have the Internet, otherwise I would never have heard about cleansing oils and their awesomeness.

I picked this one up at Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Jose (thanks Amy!) for a steal. I was curious to try a proper cleansing oil from a company that hadn't just jumped into the game. I generally shy away from buying cosmetics or skincare in grocery stores, but for $6.99...I was willing to risk it.

This actually isn't the first cleansing oil I have tried. A while ago, I bought a Dermalogica trial kit and it came with the PreCleanse stuff. It was amazing. I had been doing OCM off and on for a while, but I had never used an oil that emulsified. I loved it, but its $38 full-sized price was a little high for me. I used my sample up, and lamented.

Then a few months ago, cleansing oils became a thing all over the place. Garnier came out with one, and armed with my $1 off coupon, I bought it. Ugh. It needs a review of its own. Lets just say, for now, that I was not pleased at all.

When I found this stuff, I was cautiously optimistic. It had a friendly price tag, but I was worried about scents and irritation. Screw it, I thought...whats the worst that can happen?

Well...I got lucky. I love it.

The scent is faint and pleasant. The oil is thick, but easily emulsified and rinsed away. It takes no longer to wash away than your average cleanser, which means less time rubbing and rubbing at your face. My skin feels clean and comfortable afterwards. If anything, I think my skin is looking better since I started using it. My flaky spots seem less obvious, and my dry spots feel less dry. I don't feel like I need to rush to the face lotion immediately after my shower, which is a huge deal for me.

I can't attest to its makeup removing prowess, on my face, because I use a different method to remove my makeup. But I think this stuff would work just as well. When I used it in the shower, I massaged my eyes (because eyelashes enjoy hiding eyeliner from me) and it didn't burn or irritate me. I think I'm sold.

Normal towns, with booming Asian populations, will probably be able to find this stuff easily. I had to drive an hour and change to get it, but I think it is definitely worth it. I've included some links at the bottom if you want to check it out for yourself.
