Ipsy Bag April 2014

I know, I'm super tardy this time around. My youngest child turned four in April (holy shit) so it was pretty much a non-stop month for me. I received my bag for April in a completely appropriate time frame, so no complaints there. The delay in posting, this time, was all me.

My Thoughts:

The UD Liner

It's super black. And matte. Velvet is a great name for this product. And like all the 24/7 liners, it's pretty budge-proof. It's also really, really soft. The picture above shows what the tip looks like after one swipe. I am not sure how long this will last, compared to other 24/7 pencils. It does last fairly well. I wore it on my waterline, and got less smearing than some other pencils I have used. It definitely didn't want to come off, either. I had residue under my eyes for a day or two afterwards...though honestly I didn't put much effort forth in removing it. If you have been looking for a velvety matte pencil, this might be worth looking into.

The Eyeshadow

Its a champagne shadow. Perfectly serviceable. Its a little prone to fallout for my taste, but I am a champagne-eyeshadow-connoisseur. I'm not certain that it is worth the $13 price, but with Ipsy's 50% off code, it is worth checking out. 

The Perfume

Oh god, this smells so pretty. It is exactly jasmine. It doesn't last a very long time on my skin, maybe about four hours. But it is true-to-scent for those hours. It doesn't get weird after the first twenty minutes like some scents do. If you like clean florals, this might be for you. 

The Lip gloss

(Ok, lemme preface this by saying that I am not a fan of lip glosses. Years of having long hair have made them my enemy. Even now, when the wind is no longer a problem, I still don't like them.) I found this stuff to be quite sticky. Annoyingly, seventh-grade sticky. But it is shiny, and the sheer wash is pretty. I just find glosses like this to be a little annoying and drying on my lips. I don't know that I would pay $10 for a lip gloss, even if I liked this formula. Thankfully, my kids love shit like this so it won't be wasted.

Face Scrub

One of the drawbacks of having sensitive skin is that you are afraid to try face scrubs. Instead, I tested this out on my hands. I actually like it. The beads are very small, and packed to a medium-to-thick density. My hands felt smoother afterwards, but not super dried out. I may give this a try on my face, because it did feel really gentle. However, for a product that will mostly get used on my hands, I am unwilling to spend nearly $80. Sorry. I'm cheap. If you like mostly-physical exfoliants for your face, I definitely recommend finding a sample of this. Gentle-but-effective is hard to find in a face scrub.
