Sharpie madness continues! I was watching a gray scale makeup tutorial, like you do, and was inspired to do a gray scale manicure. It turned out ok...but not great. So I started to wonder what I could add to it...and my eyes fell on my trusty Sharpie.

I actually had a lot of fun drawing this...though I am lamenting my inability to draw crescent moons. I don't know why I can't. But the rest turned out pretty cool. Even my bats look less like they escaped a radio-active cave this time. High fives for me!
I didn't start out with a matte-icure. But my current lightbox isn't the best for actual designs. I need to hit the drawing board again. Maybe I'll just cave and stick to a traditional style...sometimes things are classics for a reason.
Do you prefer the overtly Halloweeny nails, or the slightly more subtle designs? I'm personally pretty fond of all of them, though I admit that I don't like doing the same thing I've seen on someone else. I have long-standing hipster tendencies like that.
You have inspired me. I must do this tonight.
ReplyDeletedo it! Apparently, spraying hairspray will keep it from smearing when you apply top coat. I wish I had tried it :/
DeleteThanks for the heads up!
DeleteThese are great! I like anything Halloween inspired and like a little of both, especially since Halloween only comes once a year! Same goes for Christmas/holiday nails. From Nov. 1-the end of December 90% of my manis will probably by holiday related lol so a mix of both is necessary ;)
ReplyDeleteI think for xmas, I'm going to try to do super subtle themed manicures. I'm not big into that holiday, but my kids get quite offended if I don't throw myself into the spirit...so I'll be looking for a way to make us all happy.
DeleteLove the shadows!
