Use It Or Lose It: Q1 After Action Report

It has been far too long since I have posted about this, but that doesn't mean I have given it up completely. I have been committed to the cause, even if I've been a bit quiet about it in 2015. I just switched gears a bit, and tried to start finishing some things off. It is easier than it sounds.

Beauty Secrets Acetone Nail Polish Remover
This is not my first gallon of this stuff, and I doubt it will be my last. It just works. And with Sally's so nearby, the convenience can't be beat.

Beauty Secrets Pure Acetone
I bought this on a whim. I think I prefer it for removing glitter and for cleanup. It does dry the shit out of my skin though, to a hilarious level. I bought a bigger bottle during my last trip.

L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray
I bought this small can to try forever ago. This is great hairspray, though I don't really recommend the scented version. I actually tested this stuff on Thing #1 a long while back. I buy the unscented version for myself. Nothing compare for me.

Skintimate Skin Therapy "Lotionized" Shave Gel
For years, this was my go-to when it came to regular shave gels. Foam burns my skin. I have actually found a cream from Trader Joe's that I love more, but I'm trying to use the Costco packs up. I've got two cans left...

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hand and Nail Cream
I actually just talked about this stuff. I love it. I can't live without it, and I never have less than 4 bottles in reserve. I keep it stashed all over.

Cosmedix Purity Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser
I have no idea how this stuff doesn't irritate the shit out of my face. I get it from my eyebrow lady, and it saves my skin post-wax. I only use it for about seven days out of the month, so it tends to last. It definitely got replaced.

TokyoMilk Dark Tainted Love Hand Cream
This stuff...its ok. I don't love scented hand creams, and this one is ultra smelly. It moisturized...well enough. The perfume + shea butter smell was weird.

CVS Hand Sanitizing Spray Pen
I use these little guys for alcohol marbles...and for carrying in my purse when I am crunched for space. I don't know if I will repurchase when I finish off the other two that came in the package.

Josie Maran Argan Oil
I did this one as part of my Week Four, but it took me a while to use it all up. The worst thing is the shitty packaging. Plus, you can get argan oil cheaper from dozens of places. I love it, just not from this source.

Color Club Clear Polish
I got this in a set from Ross. There is no label, so I have no idea if its a topper/clear/base...I use it for arting, mostly. It worked well enough, but I will not be buying it again. Still...yay for finishing a bottle of polish!

Versace Bright Crystal Eau de Parfum
For a frou-frou scent, I really like this one. It is feminine without being cloying. I used this whole sample to make some scented body powder for the warmer months...which I am currently loving. I might end up buying a full size of this at some point.

Gucci Envy Me Eau de Parfum
I was almost finished with this bottle back in Week Three, but there were a few more sprays that I could finagle out. Its empty now, and I'm sad. When Mother's Day comes back, I will be buying more.

Freeman Spa Professional Moisturizing Cream
Another product that has already been here, but now in empty form! I still love it, but I won't be buying it again any time soon. Ive got too much lotion to burn through first.

My husband is definitely glad to see Q1 dead and buried. I was collecting my empties in a travelling bin that was somehow in his way no matter where I stashed it. And now, its time to fill it up again. Hooray! I did a major linen closet cleaning recently, and I am on my way to purging the hell out of my closet, so I may get rid of more things than I use up in Q2. We shall see. How have you been doing this year?

    2. Add liquid glycerin and that won't happen. Stops the drying too.

  2. You can probably refill the CVS sanitizing pen with alcohol and just keep using the bottle then. Is it a spray pen?

    1. Yeah, its a spray pen. I bought a pack of four, so I might try to refill the very last one.
